Experimental power reactor (EPR) is a nuclear reactor that can be used to generate electricity, heat and to produce hydrogen gas. As an experimental reactor, the reactor operation will mainly be for research activities in order to improve mastery of technology.
Mastery of reactor technology for electricity generation, heat and hydrogen production is very important for Indonesia as Indonesia is experiencing a shortage of electricity, needs a lot of fertilizer to boost agricultural production and many industries require steam for their processes. Hydrogen from the EPR can be used as raw material for fertilizer production plant.
