There are two kinds of irradiator facilities available at the center i.e. Gamma Irradiator and Electron Beam Machine. Each can be used for laboratory research or pilot scale application in various fields such as polimerization, grafting, mutation induction (plant breeding), sterilization, and surface coating. Gamma irradiator facilities have been operated since 1968, while Electron Beam Machine since 1983. At the moment, four Gamma irradiators are available at the center and all are in good condition. Those irradiators are Gammacell-220, Panoramic Batch Irradiator, Latex Irradiator, and Gamma Chamber 4000-A. Two Electron Beam Machines i.e. EPS-300 type and GJ-2 type are currently available.

Gammacell-220, Gamma Chamber-4000A) and Panoramic Batch Irradiator are mainly used for laboratory scale researches which require relatively low dose level. Latex irradiator is used for researches requiring relatively high dose level and also for different kinds of pilot scale applications. Meanwhile, Electron Beam Machine is used for researches related to surface coating such as wood coating which requires low energy level (300 Kev). Its medium energy level (2Mev) is usually used for researches related to cable crosslinking and sterilization of goods such as rubber gloves, condoms etc.
