Workshop on Neutron Scattering 2019 aims to improve knowledge and skills in the field of materials characterization using neutron scattering method, and neutron activation analysis.

The workshop is divided into four groups of categories, namely:

  1. Wide Angle Neutron Scattering (WANS).
  2. Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS),
  3. Neutron Radiography (RN) and
  4. Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA).

Workshop material covers theory and practice. Theory is given to all participants in the class and practice is given according to the subject's choice of subject interest.

Participants are required to choose one of six specializations, namely:

  1. Crystal structure and material phase analysis,
  2. Crystallographic texture,
  3. Residual stress,
  4. Neutron radiography and tomography,
  5. Neutron activation analysis, and
  6. Nanostructure and Distribution Analysis

There are some equipments will be used for practicum, namely:

  1. Residual Stress Neutron Diffractometer (DN1),
  2. Neutron Texture Diffractometer (DN2),
  3. High Resolution Neutron Diffractometer (DN3),
  4. Small Angle Neutron Spectrometer (SANS),
  5. Neutron Radiography (RN) and
  6. Gamma Spectrometer (SG).

Participants who are invited to attend the workshop come from universities, Government ministries and institutions, professional associations, and private companies. The number of participants in the workshop is limited to a maximum of 30 people with details of WANS 15 people, SANS 5 people, RN 5 people and AAN 5 people.

Workshop participants are free of registration fees. Registration will close on August 25, 2019 or if the quota has been fulfilled. Accepted participants will be announced on August 26, 2019.
