Small angle neutron scattering (SANS) technique provide structural information about inhomogeneities of scattering object in the range from 1-100nm. SANS allows to observe form, size and distribution of an object in the sample. The object can vary from polymer structure, protein structure, pore size and distribution, and any alloy inhomogeneities. SANS has ability to revealed the structure of magnetic domain due to its neutron properties.

The objective of the workshop activity is that participants can take part in the following activities :

  1. Lecture of theory of small angle neutron scattering.
  2. Preparation of samples for experiments
  3. Introduction of small angle neutron scattering (SN2) measurements.
  4. SANS data analysis using certain software.

The benefits that can be obtained by the participants are as follows:

  • Participants can understand the basic theory of small angle neutron scattering.
  • Participants can prepare samples, take data and characterize samples using small angle neutron scattering spectrometer (SN2).
  • Participants can do SANS data analysis using certain software.
  • Participants can utilize the small angle neutron scattering spectrometer (SN2) for the characterization of materials

i-Concern

International Conference on Nuclear Capacity building, Education, Research and Applications (I-Concern’19) i-Concern is hosted by National Nuclear Energy Agency of Indonesia (BATAN) and is jointly organized with Indonesian Society of Nuclear Medicine (PKNI) and Polytechnic Institute of Nuclear Technology (STTN). The conference will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 6 -7 September 2019 under the theme “Encouraging Application of Nuclear Science, Technology, Innovation and Human Resources Development Towards Prosperous Indonesia”. The venue will be the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel in the down town of Yogyakarta.
