Vision

One of the national development goals, which is mandated by the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945, is to promote general welfare and enrich the life of the nation. In line with this mandate, science and technology development policies in the medium-long term, as stated in the 2017-2045 National Research Master Plan (RIRN), are directed at advancing science and technology to be able to produce innovation and competitive advantage based on science and technology in order to realizing a competitive and sovereign Indonesian nation. Therefore, BATAN targets the welfare of the nation as the ultimate goal of long-term use, results of research, development, assessment and application of nuclear science and technology. Welfare is a measure of the success of sustainable economic development which requires that economic development be carried out in an inclusive manner which includes not only physical infrastructure development but also human resource development while maintaining environmental sustainability. Meanwhile in the medium term, BATAN aims to increase competitiveness as an intermediate outcome from the utilization of the results of nuclear science and technology R&D. Increasing competitiveness, one of which is generated through the use of nuclear science and technology, is a fundamental step needed to increase the productivity of the national industry. In addition, high competitiveness is also the main asset for realizing independence, which in turn will lead to the progress of the nation, in accordance with the ideals of national development mandated by the Vision and Mission of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
