The Main Facility which is available for activities in research and development among others:

The “Kartini” Nuclear Reactor:

The Kartini reactor which was constructed in the year 1979 is used for necessities as follows:

  • Facility for development of the Instrumentation and Control of research reactors.
  • Facility for education and training in physics and reactor control
  • Facility for the Study of Standardization Technique of K0 for NAA
  • design of the reactor core of “Kartini” uses fuel plates produced by PT BATAN Teknologi.

Facility of Neutron Activation Analysis : (Accredited by KAN and KNAPPP)

Facility in location I:

  • Rabbit system with a vacuum sample throwing system from the top floor to the bottom in the TAN Laboratory with a distance of 15 m from the counting device. This facility is used for analysis of short living radio-nuclides (order of minutes).
  • Lazy Susan is complemented with 39 holes for samples to be irradiated (sample, standard, blank and SRM is first inserted into a tube shell before entering it into this hole). This facility is used for medium and long life radionuclide analysis.
  • Acuspec Software
  • Shampoo 90 Software
  • One HPGe detector

Facility for neutron radiography: Different to the technique of X-ray CT, neutron CT sensitive to light elements, especially hydrogen. This means that the geological sample structure which contains the mineral hydrous phase or organic could be reconstructed in the form 3 dimension images. Because of this, the neutron radiography facility at the “Kartini” reactor has a potency to be developed to the capacity of a high resolution radiography and tomography at the same time the development of the acquisition and image processing software.

Facility for sub-critical assembly to determine the reactor physics parameter of the core and the fuel element products of BATAN : Determination of the core physics parameter with the pebble fuel element and plate fuel element.

  • Facility for Chemical Analysis Laboratory (CV-AAS/F-AAS/GT-AAS/SS-AAS, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, Electrochemistry etc.) which are accredited by KAN -SNI-1917025.

  • Chemistry Laboratory (ex.Technophysicochemistry Field) accredited by by KNAPPP.
  • Material Characterization Laboratory (surface area, DTA/DTG, Spectrograph Emission, etc.) which a part already accredited by KAN
  • Neutron Activation Analysis Laboratory already accredited by KAN and IAEA
